Young and Growing

I wrote a story that came out this week. It’s a profile of a few young farmers in MN. Such a treat to write. You can check it out here, if you are interested. Here’s a photo of Laura Frerichs and Adam Cullip of Loon Organics, who sell their produce at the Mill City Farmers’ Market in Minneapolis and run a CSA program.
Through my interviews, I also found out about a super-neat organization called The Greenhorns. It’s a non-profit made up of young farmers and their mission is to support a new generation of American farmers. There’s also a documentary film coming out (to be called “The Greenhorns”) I think, about young farmers across America. It’s now in post-production. Can’t wait.

This was a great read! I especially love the part about the hospital herb garden.

  2. Rosanne. Great portraits here for Heavy Table; the Loon Organics couple are super nice and genuine when I’ve spoken with them. Keep up the good work and thanks again for continuing to take me with you back to the Ballymaloe. I’m including and highlighting your blog in my upcoming newsletter and hope that that will bring a new surge of readers and admirers. Cheers, Kristin
