Field Trip, Part 1

We had a field trip recently — visiting a number of local artisan food shops and two different farmers’ markets (see next post!).

We tasted Ummera smoked salmon:


Carrigaline farmhouse cheese:


We wore kooky cheese-touring outfits (including hats, coats, and shoes!):

Visited Arbutus bakery:

And finished the day off with a visit to a new pizza restaurant opened by a Ballymaloe alum in Midleton called Pizzeria San Marco. The pizza was delicious (long and full of top quality veggies and cured meats), though I couldn’t get quite as close to it as these photographers:

And this platter of goodies was super-tasty, too.
